Chatino Class

Introducing a class on the indigenous Chatino language spoken in Oaxaca, Mexico and, here too! There are many Chatino people here in Sonoma County - this language is alive in our community!

The esteemed Maria Salinas, a local Chatina community leader, will be teaching this class. Maria is passionate about the indigenous language movement and is proud to take this opportunity to collaborate with Café Puente to share her language and culture with the rest of the community.

If you work with the Chatina community, this is an excellent opportunity to learn more about their culture and start communicating with Chatino people in their own language.

If you want your children to learn more about indigenous cultures, bring them to the class too! All ages are welcome.
